- How to clean stuff toys without washing: Put stuff toys into a large plastic bag with one or more cups of baking soda, secure the top and shake well. The baking soda and static will draw out the soil and dust. (Do this also with artificial floral decorations)
- Lemon as natural air-freshener in you home : Cut one lemon into half and put it in a microwaveable bowl, add water till lemon is covered and microwave for about 2-3 minutes. The steam will soften hardened food inside the oven while you enjoy the citrus scent. Then grate the fruit in the garbage disposal to eliminate any musty odor.
- Amonia and water mixture is effective as grease cutter: clean your stove area full of splashes of oil from frying with this mixture. Its a cheap way to tackle a messy job.
- How to clean metals? For starters, don't use powdered abrasives,metallic scrubbers, or products containing chlorine on steel-all of which could damage the finish. Instead, try this safe, cheap homemade cleaner: Blend 1/2 cup washing soda with a bit of tap water to make a thick paste. Apply with a soft cloth or sponge, always rubbing with a damp cloth and wipe with a dry one.
